Artist creates bust to memorialize COGIC PATRIARCH. Mrs. Mary P. Patterson, widow of the late J.O. Patterson, Sr., is greeted by Bishop Joel Lyles of Baltimore during a bust unveiling ceremony Wednesday for the late Bishop C.H. Mason, founder of COGIC. The bust by James Lewis, a COGIC member from Kansas City, Mo., will be placed at Charles H. Mason Theological Seminary in Atlanta, GA. "It's very important we tell our own story," said Mary Patterson, founder of the Pentecostal Heritage Connection, which commissioned the bust.
